The King's Speech first screening at Telluride

Gareth - The King's Speech has just had its first screening at Telluride. It was the 'must-have ticket' of the morning. The cinema was packed and Tom gave an incredibly generous and delightful intro. The film looked and sounded great, a mix of laughter and tears ensued, and the film really resonated with the audience. I was sat behind Laura Linney who proclaimed it a "wonderful wonderful film". Rapturous applause followed, with everyone in the credits being applauded...

What I wasn't ready for was the standing ovation that met Tom, Colin and Geoffrey taking the stage...WOW !

International acceptance of latest movie? Tick!

Gareth - So The King's Speech had its Cast and Crew screening last night and I had several messages saying how much people enjoyed it.  I was in Poland and screened the film for a number of people on the Chopin project - and they loved it. Great response seeing as there were only two Brits in the audience but I can proudly announce that Poles, Yanks and Frenchies "get it"!! International acceptance of latest movie? Tick!

How will TKS be received?!

Gareth - After five years having The King's Speech as a major part of my life our first screening rapidly approaches - am starting to get really anxious to know how it will be received. All the polls point towards a favourable reception in North America but you just never know. Also wary about the opposition! Some are great stories, some have awesome casts, others by Directors I always find intriguing and others...well, some you just know will resonate well with their domestic audience. That's something we will have to wait until later in the year for, when we roll out TKS in the UK.
